Yeah Pimp, I got to agree on a couple of things.

1. Of the guys in consideration, I had wanted to see Dan Reeves get the job, not Wade Phillips.

2. I agree on Monk.

TO is a pain but until Terry Glenn gets back, TO is THE MAN.

Now Terry Glenn I liked since his days in New England.

They will lose games they should win. They did that the last two years and show the same propensity this year. But like I said. 9 wins should make the playoffs and 10 should take the division.

Skins got a good "D" but you have to score to win. They can't hold everyone to no points. And if they score 10 pts a game, they will need more than just a good "D". The Pats have a great defense and Dallas scored 27.

"Boys" play the "Foreskins" three times this year, winning twice and go to the "Big Game".

Hey Pimp and Norm I see Tank Johnson is in pratice now with the Boys but he can't play until the Giants game. Another plus for the boys just keep the handguns away from him.

Somebody better explain this "Todays Posts" vs the old "New Posts" to me real fast. I use to auto log in then hit "New Posts" which would show me all the posts from every forum since my last visit. What? You mean now I have to search each and every forum and check all the threads to see if I've read them?

Norm

Oh and just to keep it sports:

Funny

...how the Cowboys are already feared, even though they havent won a playoff game in years. There is a lot of season left...and I dont know if the C-boys will be in the Superbowl...but Pimp...its not going to be the Redsiks.

By the way,and its a sad fact...the only former NFL player to succumb to AIDS was the redsiks own Jerry Smith. He was not out of the closet, but he was a homosexual man,not that there is anything wrong with that.

P.S.Hate the burgundy and gold but the Monk situation is a travesty. He was one of the few redsiks I really liked.

Thats what I'm saying Kdawg.

I was fine with all the changes till now. Took me a few minutes to figure out how to log out before and you can't log out from a thread. You have to back space your way back to the beginning.

"New Posts" was a great and easy time saver. I'm sure nobody asked for that to change. There is just no time to go through every single forum and every single thread.

I hope maybe I'm just missing something.

I can't think of too many teams the Cowboys actually instill fear in. In fact, I'd have to think the Skins defense is chomping at the bit to play 'em.

Its not teams so much...

...as its fans of other also-ran teams...the fear is so obvious...the fear that the Cowboys may very well have another Vince Lombardi trophy...before their team has its first one...or their next one. Its a human's way of sub conciously dealing with that possibility...POSSIBILITY.

In November in Dallas it should be a tough game. However in my book offense at home trumps the visitor's defense. WE...WE cant wait till those burgundy shirts come out to Texas Stadium.

In Maryland when they play in December...it may be a meaningless game,or it could be for one or the other even making the play-offs.

I can tell you, though you don't need told, the Redskins do not fear Dallas and vice-versa. We've had the Boys number in NFC championship games and have 3 rings of our own. Gonna be hella fun in Irving and at Fed Ex. See you there!

Well my old high school did it! They upset previously undefeated Waverly, snapping the Tiger’s 22 game winning-streak in emphatic fashion with a 31-7 win last night. Waverly, a division larger than we are, hadn’t lost since a 41-6 loss to us in October 2005. Waverly, the 11th ranked team in the state, had been averaging 35 points per game but managed just the lone touchdown. That was due in large part to our constant pressure on Trevor Walls, Waverly’s 6’6,” 220 lb QB (being recruited by Ohio State, Michigan State, Iowa and Purdue among others). We ****** him into an uncharacteristic performance as he completed just 21 of 49 passes (he did manage 309 yards on the 21 completions) and two picks (both inside our 12 yard line). We took the opening kick-off and went 80 yards in 11 plays in building a 24-0 halftime lead and never looked back. The win improves the Burg to 6-3 and clinches their 29th (out of 35) conference championship. It also guaranteed Wheelersburg their 21st playoff appearance!

Way to go, boys! We ARE…..THE BURG!!!

The teams in the NFC East have a history of splitting games for the season no matter how good or bad one or the other supposedly is. Thats just the mark of the great rivalry's in that division. Especially when Dallas is involved.

The topsy-turvy world of college football continues. This has been one crazy, hard to predict season so far. My percentage has dropped some in recent weeks (still at 75%, 60 for 80) given all this nuttiness. At least the Buckeyes avoided this season's #1 curse at least for today. Next week will be a tough one for me as it will pain me to have to root against the Nittany Lions but since the Buckeyes are still very much in the title hunt I will have to do so. Just glad the Lions and Buckeyes won today and that Kentucky acquitted themselves well in their loss to Florida.

On a baseball note it is sure beginning to look like a collapse of epic proportion by the Tribe! :(

A little ha ha before the games today.

Norm

Two boys are playing football in Central park when one is attacked by a rabid Rottweiler. Thinking quickly, the other boy rips off a board of the nearby fence, wedges it down the dog's collar and twists, breaking the dogs neck.

A reporter who was strolling by sees the incident, and rushes over to interview the boy.

"Young Giants Fan Saves Friend From Vicious Animal," he starts writing in his notebook.

"But I'm not a Giants fan," the little hero replied.

The reporter starts over. “Young Jets Fan Saves Friend…” he begins.

“But I’m not a Jets fan either” the lad says.

"Sorry, since we are in New York City I just assumed you were either a Giants fan or a Jets fan. So what team do you root for?" the reporter asked.

"I'm a Cowboys fan," the child said.

The reporter starts a new sheet in his notebook and writes, "Little Redneck Maniac Kills Beloved Family Pet."

Damn. I can't ever remember being as sympatico with another person's picks or rankings as I am with yours, Kdawg.

I only differ in that I would have Missouri higher, even with one loss, than Kansas (and ahead of USF also).

In the pros I only disagree with your admitted homer pick and would take the Chiefs over the Raiders as well as Da Bears over Philly. Other than that we're in total agreement.

Or mine (or my Dad) spent time in Maryland.

As far as today goes........sigh.........the Skins keep taking steps backward offensively. They are so beat up on the offensive line that it's unbelievable. Three starters were out and 2 of the 3 fill-ins were hurt (Kendall and Wade). That all but eliminated the running game and with Campbell's injured wrist (throwing hand) they could not go downfield. It was an incredibly conservative game plan because of this. Thank God the best defense in the NFL showed up again (they amaze me each new week with how good they actually are).

The Redskins have to learn how, as a young team, to put teams away. They have no choice but to learn on the job as that's the only way you can. Doing so is problematic and, until you effectively learn how, you'll face hard lessons (Giants & Packers games are perfect examples). Learning on the fly demands that they learn quickly. Perhaps today and the near collapse to Arizona, was the last step or lesson they'll need. I sure hope so.

A win is a win and I'll take it but offensively........the Skins are in trouble next week. Pats 27, Skins 10.

I feel so bad for the Cleveland Indians. I hope this doesn't ruin their psyche for the future. I know it will hurt for quite awhile but they are a very young team so hopefully they can (and will) bounce back.

Actually I am not terribly disappointed as I really like the Red Sox too as I like Ortiz, Drew, Manny, Schilling, Beckett, Papelbon and Francona.

Just think........no titles since 1918 and now two in what, four or five years??? That curse is truly over. I think it just took hold in Wrigley and doubled theirs though! Poor Cubbies. :(
