It's surprising, if not amazing, to think of the sheer numbers of people that work together having sex.
From executive offices to unskilled labor positions, it exists on every level.
And it typically involves people that other would never imagine them together.
I'm fairly certain my wife was either caught fooling around with another manager at her work, or somebody may have 'reported' it. It's even possible that his wife found out he fucked my wife outside of work, and reported it as an act of vengeance.
I don't know what the real story is; I have my suspicions, but can't independently verify it.
In any case, she is all of a sudden very chummy with this guy. She would talk about him on a daily basis, she's spending more time at work than typical (overtime hours well into the night), and there is always some reason for them to be with/next to/near at work.
As matter of fact, her Mom died during this time period, and at the funeral, she rejected my attempts of comfort and care, and chose to seek those from him. I don't know if anybody else noticed, but I was shocked and embarrassed.
Anyway, after a few months, he is all of a sudden being transferred to another location and demoted. It was a development that was considered surprising by some at that time. I think he was generally viewed as a solid, dependable employee, had never had any particular problems with his job, and so forth.
So, I think this is what my wife and him were presented with when they were confronted by their superiors. Basically a accept this or they would terminate one of them, possibly both.
Unfortunately, if I were to ask any of her coworkers I know well enough for info, they would tell her at first opportunity, and that's a can o' worms I don't want to open.
And she won't talk about it. Not even once.
She has shared some details of other guys she fucked over the years, but for whatever reason, this is one that she keeps private. The shame of it is I wouldn't have a problem if they did fuck, and would love to know, but... can't win 'em all.
