Hate to tell you, but we are 7 mos into the Admn of Barack Obama, and frankly, the economy is poised to get worse, although I do not pin it all on him. Like those of you have with W.Blame the FUCKING CONGRESS GETTING US INTO A DEEPER HOLE WITH THEIR SPENDING AND BORROWING FROM THE CHINESE, with money we do not have.

He has no more excuses it is now his watch and now has to take all the responsibility and govern and stop being in campaign mode he has been for the last 7 months, and show he has grown up politically. I see things as being "Amateur" hour right now in the White House. Pres Obama needs to grow up and govern and stop the blame game and the NIMBY syndrome.

AND WE NEED TO GET THOSE ASSHOLES OUT OF CONGRESS THAT HAVE SPENT US INTO OBLIVION,OF ALL POLITICAL PARTIES!!!!! Get regular folks who have an understanding of what a dollar means like doing a family budget.

Short, every dollar the government has to borrow from the regular economy,is a dollar that could have gone to someone to take a risk on in a business of some type. I could be employed if it were not for CONGRESS SERVICING THE DEFICIT WITH OVER 800 BILLION DOLLARS TAKEN OUT OF THE REAL ECONOMY for business loans.

Sorry if I keep on here, but I am in a depression right now ,trying to get over the fact borrowing money is just too hard to do right now, and was just turned down for a loan to buy an existing business and try to employ people when we need those type of jobs at the MOST CRITICAL TIME IN OUR NATION'S HISTORY!!!

Thanks for letting me vent, with the eye on hoping for a better future.

Yep. He was jacking us off the whole time with his promises of all of those "Green Jobs". Anybody who was born with the ability to process thought could see that his plan was/is pie in the sky. Where the fuck is the money supposed to come from? They bailed out the banks that had been reckless with the funds, then they clamp down on the customers and make it much more difficult for them to get loans. The bailouts should have been from the ground up. They should have forgiven whatever the amount people were behind on their loans and restructured the loans so that the people could pay them back. The way it was done, the banks got the relief they wanted, the people STILL owed the money, and they have absolutely no desire to restructure loans to give the American people the relief they need. Before, in the midst of the crisis, the banks were foreclosing on people whom they had loaned too much money for too little house. The result was the banks were sitting on a shitload of houses that were at or above the 100% mark in terms of debt-to-value, and they couldn't move them. Normally, a bank would require a person to come up with a 20% down payment. Homes normally appreciated in value and if they had to foreclose, it was a win-win situation because they were probably going to get the balance of their loan back AND they had already made thousands upon thousands of dollars from the homeowner paying payments that were essentially interest, with very little principal.

What it really all boils down to is that Obama was ignorant, full of shit, or just plain stupid when he was making all of his campaign promises about "change" and how he was going to change the way Washington ran business. So far, he's been getting his ass handed to him on a platter.

The arguments (comments) about W and Obama are sadly redundant. Six of one...half dozen of the other. Might as well throw in Clinton and Bush Sr. for good measure.
When are you going to come to the realization that continuing to do the same things expecting different results really is the definition of stupidity.

The Republican and Democratic Parties are responsible for all that is happening to our country and those that continue to vote these two whoring parties back into power have no bitch coming. This coming election will be a good time to venture out and do something different. Get out of your comfort zones and vote these jerks out of office once and for all. It's past time for a New Party and finally I think their time has come... the American people are finally mad enough to actually take back their government from these blood sucking vermin? Let's Hope!

It took Bush 8 years to screw up a surplus that Clinton built up. We still can't expect Obama to fix everything in 7 months, or even a year and a half. It's going to take time to fix. The war has fucked up alot in terms of spending IN MY OPINION! Give the man a chance, and please lets get back to talking sexxx!

Oh ya the good old boys in DC sirtting on their fat asses or getting blow jobs from page boys or interns. There missdaeastcoast is the sex to it now lets give out more money so you can drive a new car lets bail out banks lets give the car makers loans hell lets just give it to everyone in health care because we can give everyone health insurance and it will pay for its self Obama fault hell he is one man as Bush Clinton and the rest of them but congress has to vote for it so blame them fuck heads after all they oked all the money to keep the Iraq war going and then listen to them curse Bush for it why do they care anyway they all have good income and bennies and can come and go as they please like I said lets get rid of it all and let a teacher farmer banker store owner and a couple of 40 hour aweek workers run the show.

Don't Drink the KOOL AID

It is time that we unite as Americans, and vote for America. The Democrats blame the Republicans and the Republicans blame the Democrats, nothing gets done and the American people get the shaft. Washington DC is the District of Corruption....Corrupt politicians. The only thing the politicians care about is getting reelcted; they'll do or say anything to get reelected and Specter the defector is a good example. They tell us that we need to reelect them so they can fight for us......bull. Don't drink the KOOL AID. This administration and Congress is going to save the Titanic and let the people drown. They are taking our country from us.... divide and conquer. Democrats against Republicans, rich aginst poor, unions against non union, black against white, etc.. We need to come together as Americans and vote for America and kick them all out. The government bails out the big companies and corporations and does nothing for the people down on Main Street. Small business and small companies employ 70% of the work force in this country, but the government is going to tax any small business owner that makes over $250,000.00 a year. If the government truely wants to create jobs why don't they bail out the small business? And this health care issue...if you think health care is expensive now.....wait until the government makes it free. The government can't even run the post office, medicare, or social security and they want us to trust them to run a health care program. If this health care program is so great why aren't the politicians going to sign up for it? They want to pass a health care bill for us, but not for them...why not? Oh yes and just one more little thing..... where in the Constitution does it give Congress the authority to create a national health care system? Congress doesn't care if the Constitution does give them the authority ...they do what they think is best for us...... why....because we aren't smart enough to know what is best for us. Don't drink the KOOL AID. And they tell us it is "Complicated" is that code for "You aren't smart enough to understand" or is it code for "We, the politicians, don't understand it either and we can't explain it." Hell it is no wonder the politicians don't understand it and can't explain it....they don't read the bills they pass.

Wake up Americans vote for America and not he corrupt politicians.
Don't drink the KOOL AID

A couple of points...

  • There's an old saying that goes like this...."If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging." Obama is digging like a motherfucker.
  • This is the "off-topic" section of DC. This is where people come to NOT talk about sex.

Well put.

I keep hearing folks(the right) talking about "where's the money gonna come from" seems to me like it'll come from the same place that the BILLIONS a month spent in Iraq came from.

Our health care is ranked #37 in the world.
The World Health Organization's ranking of the world's health systems

And throwing more money at it is going to help, how?

Total Health Expenditures as Percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) 2000-2005 - Country Rankings

Also, I'm pretty sure if our fat asses would push back from the table, drive past the KFC a couple of times a week and stop super-sizing every meal we eat, we would be much higher up the list. It's called personal accountability. We eat ourselves to death, then want to blame McDonalds for making tasty french fries that we are incapable of not eating. On the following list, the US is BY FAR the largest nation and with the exception of Kuwait, is the only non-Pacific island. The people on these islands are genetically predisposed to being big, so that is completely understandable. Rarely do you ever see a skinny Samoan.

U.S makes WHO’s short list of Worlds Most Obese Countries

I never suggested "throwing" money at it....how about just fixing it?
would it cost money? OF COURSE, but is it something we can afford not to fix?

What has the government ever "fixed"?

You want lower health care costs? How about getting lawyers out of the emergency room driving up doctors malpractice insurance. Instead of trying to fix prices you could do that because doctors are scared shitless at being sued.

Everybody wants to just sit back, outsource their entire health to a smart doctor who isn't paid alot, and when he fucks up they still want that right to sue the shit out of him. That's not the way it works.

Maybe if people on medicare paid the going rate for their care, prices for everyone else wouldn't have to be jacked up.

Does our health care cost more than europes? Yes, but Americans are also fatter than europens and we also have the best medical technology in the world. That means higher prices.

If everybody wants to sit on their ass and wait for Obama to "fix" health care, "fix" our economy without doing work, then hey are going to be waiting a long time. Obama is a politican, he sells dreams and speaks out of both sides of his mouth like the rest of them.

I never mentioned Obama. I said WE, as in WE Americans.

so your thinking is because GW (who I don't like by the way) spent our surplus the best way to get that back is to spend???

Have you even seen what he has spent it on? The stimulus bill is now going to fund research at colleges about sex and what not. How in the hell is that going to help our country?

Trust the Federal Governmet? I think not!

Not one entity that the feds have ever tried to run has worked. Medicare, Social Security, Welfare, Post Office and many other programs have failed to work. Why in the hell would we trust them to manage health care. Look at all the other countries that have socialized health care and the evidence is quite obvious. Over in Oregon they have had a state run socilized health care. There is a woman who got her chemo years ago and her cancer was in remission. It came back and the doctor prescribed her a medicine that would prolong her life. However, the state said it would not pay for it but would pay for her assisted suicide. Reason being is that it was cheaper to kill her than keep her alive. The cancer meds cost $4,000 a month. The death pills were only $50. Is this what we want in America? Because eventually after the money runs out it will be rationed just as it is in France, Canada, and Great Britain. Oh yeah, I want that! NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, Medicare and the USPS work. Imagine what insurance companies would be doing to the elderly if they didn't have guaranteed health care. People pay into the Medicare system their entire working lives in order to guarantee affordable health care when they will most likely need it the most. The USPS is a fantastic deal, if you think about it. Try sending a comparably sized letter or package across the country via FedEx or UPS for close to the price you can via the USPS. It won't happen.

That thing about Oregon is a snapshot of the conundrum of the health care system. Often, it is much cheaper just to let a terminal patient just go ahead and die. I know this is inhumane, but it's honest. If a person has 6 months to live at the most and it's going to cost $30,000 per month to keep them alive...just so they can lie in a bed for 6 more months...well...

I'm not saying this is right. I'm just saying that this has to be addressed.

gears has made a good point here but until we get the right to die here it never will happen. If someone is going to die in a year six months or what ever he or she should have the right to end it with a nice painless injection and go to sleep for good and this would save tons of money for everyone. As with people on death row being put to sleep we as a nation always have the candle burners outside the door saying we are not God we shouldnt take a life until we get this taken care of it will cost all of us lots of money to keep people alive in this country.

i'm back

Well, I can not disagree anymore with you neocons on a lot of things. Honestly, can someone please relate to me the difference between the dems and reps at this point? I have come to realize that tax money will likely go towards fraud and not the destination originally intended. One year ago I was borderline socialist and perhaps if I had any faith in the handling of tax money I would still feel the same way; however the case against such idealism is too heavy.

In any case I can never vote Republican for a variety of reasons. Not the least of which is because I do not subscribe to religious fanaticism. I honestly think that the religious voter is the greatest threat against the seperation of church and state. If Palin comes to office in '13 then the religious will finally get their beloved armageddon. I would have considered Ron Paul if he wore not the garb of the dogmatic.

But I concede to those of you whom are actual conservatives (and not Bushees or bible-nazis), with whom I debated several times before. I do not hate Obama I still like him and I do think he believes in what he is doing for the most part. I do not think he believes in the war however, he's being ****** to carry out his promise. In any case I do believe that the only way the dems will win in '12 if things continue as they are going and the economy is still bad. If the dems actually improve the economy and everyone begins building some level of wealth then they will vote republican... such is the left's dilemma.

Would she have been able to get insurance to cover those pills having had cancer?

Well I haven't got an axe to grind, not living with you guys, but there is a lot of bullshit sloshing around about other countries national healthcare. I have lived in the UK and France and can tell you it works. Not so good in the UK but that's because they don't put enough money in, but you always have the option of having private care to get you the drugs that the government will not supply because they are saving taxpayers money .

In France all chronic illnesses are 100% freely treated to their conclusion, for other problems you pay a small top up which is usually covered by your employers insurance or you take out your own. If you're out of work the state pays. Nothing is held back, but we don't have doctors who just rachet up their fees by doing unnecessary or dubious and unproven work either. France treated and cured my Hepatitis C problem for free; so obviously I think a half free, half paying system works. I can cite a lot of other examples as well, so believe me, when politico's say it doesn't work they are just behaving like the usual lying scum they are, I apologise for slagging off your politicians but ours are also lying scumbags if that makes it any better

I think it's a case more about how much you care about your fellow human beings really, if you don't give a damn then carry on but I wouldn't want to be in a country where you didn't get treated until the hospital knew that they were going ot get paid, or that your insurance covers the problem.
If your insurance is inadequate, what's the difference between a national health scheme that doesn't pay and a private insurance that doesn't pay? Or perhaps that doesn't happen and that's the sort of bullshit we hear over on this side of the pond.

You are aware the USPS spends most of its time in the red aren't you? They are scheduled to lose Billions this year. It is highly inefficient though that is more do to unions than it being a government entity- UPS is the same way- try giving someone a hand (they being behind and you being done and bored) and see what happens- been there done that.
