You're the very first person to suggest that. And that just occurred to me that that's strange. Not even our parents gave it a second thought.
Annie, my sis, and her hubby Mark had drifted away from the core family long before we kind of asked, Hey, what ever happened to Mark and Annie? Fact is I think my folks died thinking she still lived in Port St. Lucie and just didn't bother with us. Later on we conjured up the story about them moving to some strange village in Peru. Her hubby had this thing...err..idea that the world was ending in 2012 and he knew where to hide to avoid it. But, I don't really think they went. I think she's still in Port St. Lucie.
But now you got me thinking. She is my only living relative from the immediate family.

You seem also to have a distorted view of the ease of finding someone who doesn't want to be found (or who may have changed their name, perhaps due to marriage, and in addition may no longer be living). If that's so easy, why haven't the U.S. and its allies, with their near-infinite financial, law-enforcement and espionage resources, been able to find a certain well-known "terrorist," among many other high-profile wanted folks....?

Do not underestimate the power (aka:wealth) inherent in dollars and natural when living within your means. Using myself as an example - since I seem to be topical herein - before all my divorces and poor business ventures and lots of whoring around I was worth nearly 50 million bucks. We'll leave the viability of the divorces for another thread (because in only one case did she actually get a fair - 1/2 - share.... cuckolds still win as adultery whether approved of or otherwise is still adultery.) Let's just say that all 6 in total diminished my wealth by 85%. Poor business practice took another 17%. And whoring around took me to what's left. I stand before you with nearly a mil in assets and about 1/2 mil in cash. Been in that situation for nearly 5 years now - since Cathy and I married.
Now, the point of this: Except for the banks and investing houses' statements, we do not feel poorer. It's not like we bow out of trips with friends and family or put off a luncheon or dinner date - ever. I got rid of my 2 yachts because I hated them anyway. I don't stay at Mick Jaggar's house in the Carib, but the one time made me promise myself never to do so again. I still work at least an hour each week at my real job because I like writing and painting the props for porn sets and sometimes even fluffing. Nothing really has changed. Trust me, if you live within your means or once you get around 1/2 mil and hold it there, you're living just as good as any king. Unless you love to live in oversized houses that are always dusty, have so many staffers that you're never alone and every cat theif in the area wants in on the place.
About hiding from the law. I wholly agree with Custer. Due to the family business (porn) I know more than a handful of shady characters. It is ABSOLUTELY a fact that if you keep your eyes and ears open you can slip under the radar no matter how good that radar is. Best story I recall is my friend Freddie who in a crowded bar sat nervously while 3 cops (or detectives?) marched around the bar showing Fred's image and asking if anyone knew the man in the photo. They even walked up to Freddie and showed him the photo. He took it, studied it and handed it back with a reply, "No." And the cops moved on and out the door. But that is a rare tale, I'm sure. Most of the stories are near misses, hiding out under train stations, living in trash containers and the like. But the rascals are still free.

Keeping your one-half mil in cash is probably a good place for it. I mean, had you invested it in the stock market, you could now be worth a whole lot less than a mere million (unless, of course, that's what you meant by "poor business ventures" — but I would guess it isn't).

Joe said he was a rich man, so I said to use his surplus and find his lost sister. Hope Joe finds her because she could be living on snails and muddy water in poverty. It would be awesome if they could give each other a hug after such a long time apart. Family is important.

I also think it is important to obey the rules regarding age of consent and incest, because society has determined that these rules are very important to protect young children from adults with pots of dollars and seduction skills to win their favors when they are having teenage blues and wanting to run away from home because "their parents don't understand them".

Age of consent varies from 11-21 in different parts of the world. The Police are employed to enforce those rules, whether they believe them to be true or not.

If you find it impossible to obey the rules that the society you live in has agreed on, then you would be wise to find another place to live in the world where the rules equate more closely to your beliefs and values.
