imo being "black" is a cultural state of mind. I'm sure u all know many non brown skinned people who are considered "black" by their non white peers who accept them as such. in my 28 years on earth I've never met a person who was actually black. so dark skinned they look purple, yes. "blue black," or skillet black is what I've heard many people refre to rhis tone as. me, I concocted the term "bootleg black" in reference to the lack of color you see when watching a bootleg dvd. on a more serious note, evryone will be black after they die and are 6ft under. and furthermore, white comes from black. for my naysayers, tell me how white light can exist in a color spectrum without first coming out of darnkess???
for those who say being black has something to do with being african, I agree only because its where the original man came from. although some may beg to differ brown skinned people were the first inhabitants in this world, today, if you have the appearance of not being white, you will usually be described as some form of nigga. you've got black niggas, sand niggas, hispanic niggas, and white people ignorant to the fact, but they're niggas too! so we're all black.
