TokyoCouple - I think your take on Africa is a bit simplistic. It's a very large continent, and the AIDS levels vary a lot.

A friend of my wife has just returned from an extended stay in Africa - not because of AIDS but because of Ebola. She was in Ghana, where she was working for a mining company. Ghana hasn't had a single case of Ebola yet, but my wife's friend was nervous so left as soon her contract expired.
