tcfranklin... time drawing near... couple more weeks! neighbor (redneck one) brought home a nice 6 pointer last night he got with a bow... he gets about 3 a year! watched him through some binoculars for a while one time... he doesn't even move his head... for hours... just shifts his eyes!... HARDCORE!... I am going through about a bag of corn a night right now..... checked my cameras... they are feeding about midnight... but sometime after the deer leave here comes the damned raccoons!... also the feeders are attracting others.... saw some beady eyes in the background 2 times on my cameras... but couldn't make out much... neighbor showed me on his a nice full pic of a Mt lion! they or it seems to be stalking the feeders also!.... as long as it only moves around at night... fine with me!... but black powder season coming up... I always carry a 45 in my belt... just in case!

tcfranklin...I do alright... although another thing momma thinks is stupid... but she won't say anything more about it... hard to tell just how much I spend to get that deer... and how much work... filling the feeders about every other day.... and now my youngest has decided he wants to hunt also... so that means another 4 wheeler.... I have an old Arctic Cat had about 10 years but have it all fitted for everything in the woods... but will get lucky as my other neighbor has been looking at a new one... so yesterday offered to buy his old Kawasaki... it is bigger than mine so will give my old one to my son and take his bigger one... getting it for $3,000.00 which is a good deal... my oldest wants to hunt but he is "pouting"... we got into it a while back at dinner... can't put that ipod down.. even to eat... made it leave it in his room during dinner... he wants to hunt and naturally I said yes... but NO ipod... he walked off...

Hunting is a lot of work, but a bowl of venison stew on a winter day is heaven. As for the son, good for you. I hate when people play with their phones or iPods at dinner. That is just rude.

tcfranklin... yes it is I lived and hunted up north for years... a lot easier up there... here you really work for what you get... but momma says the work and the cost just doesn't justify it.... but it isn't about what I spend or the work... I enjoy the time alone in the tree in the middle of the woods!
