Banning Pimp

We usually don't comment on threads like these or like to get involved in message board drama, but we have found a few things very interesting in this thread and can't resist.
One thing that really caught our attention was who three of the people that have stated they hope the banning of Pimp is temporary were. Those three people are Slavetoebony, mhall, and RaunchyRandy. If you were to just look at their posts on certain topics you would think that they would be all for the permanent banning of Pimp. In our opinion that says a lot about these three.
We like Pimp, but that doesn't mean we always agree with him or his way of dealing with things. He is a man that is true to his beliefs and for that we have to respect him. We also think he is an asset to this message board and is one of a small percentage of "real" members on the board.
Does he take things too far sometimes? Yes he does. Does he let his emotions get the best of him? Yes he does. Do some members here try to goad him into a confrontation and push his buttons? Yes they do.
No offense to RoSquirts and Pooch, but it's our opinion that both of you have tried to instigate or contributed to confrontations with Pimp.
Pooch, from some of your previous posts it seems that you realize this and have tried to keep yourself from doing it, but a lot of threads we have read at one point become the Pooch and Pimp show. You probably are going to hate us for saying this, but we think this is because you are both a lot a like. Not in your approach to things, but the fact that you are both very opinionated and it seems neither of you like to feel you are on the losing end of a discussion. Hopefully if the ban is temporary you can both try to keep any difference in opinion you guys have from dragging on and on.
Rosquirts, we know that you and Pimp got off on the wrong foot, but even after the Rosquirts vs. Pimp drama was put to rest, it seems that you haven't been able totally let it go. You haven't attacked Pimp or anything, but you have trolled 5 or 6 of his posts with backhanded, snide, and sarcastic comments.
We too hope the ban is only temporary. Like we said before, we feel he is an asset to this board and one of a small percentage of "real" members here. Will a temporary ban change who he is? Not a chance, but he may try a little harder to avoid situations and posts that may lead to confrontations. Hopefully others on the board will do their part in avoiding and contributing to confrontations with him as well and if they can't, we hope the moderators and admin will take action before things get out of control.
Last, but not least! To the people that have posted about him being the reason you haven't posted lately. We doubt you are that thin skinned that one person and their keyboard has kept you from posting on the board. Obviously you are still coming here and reading the posts or you wouldn't know he was banned. So his posts keep you from posting, but not from coming here and reading threads? Not likely, but if you are that thin skinned put him on ignore if he comes back and you won't have to worry about it.

I don't really want to engage in a long debate about this either, just one comment on this last posting: the reason I still came here was that I have established some nice relationships here where I exchanged private messages back and forth. I came online to check messages and answer some, but since I had the feeling that eventually pimp would insert himself into every threat that is not merely a reposting of some porn site pictures (which don't interest me at all) I simply gave up on looking at the message boards. It has nothing to do with being thin skinned but with not wanting to waste my time on any threat because I knew it would end with some self-righteous comments by pimp which then might be countered by others and so on.
Today the headline that he was banned jumped into my eye. Otherwise again I would not even have bothered to check the boards.
So yes, he was the reason I refrained from posting and if he comes back I will go again. And no need now to get all hot about that, I hope we all still have lives outside of such a forum.

It's just hard for us to understand how one poster can keep a person from posting on a message board if they really want to post. On other boards we are members of there are posters that get under our skin, but we just don't pay any attention to their posts. We don't even bother to take the time or make the effort to put them on ignore, we just ignore their posts. Even if they post in response to one of our posts we just move on to the next post.
If we enjoy a group or message board, we aren't going to let anything another poster does or says ruin that for us. That's just us and everyone is different.
As a matter of fact we use to be members of a message board that was pretty much a No Holds Barred board as far as what you could say to another poster. There were more pricks on that board than we could count, but there were also some great people that we loved having discussions with and would still be posting there today if it was still around.

It's funny how you seem to think it's OK for Pimp to state his opinions uncontested while others should have to skirt around him. Seems a little one sided to me. Just because he was sensitive about it, we all should not challenge his opinions when we think they're wrong ?

to frkyfuncpl and fellow members here: I am cognizant of my confrontations with Pimp, and how others viewed them, and specifically me. Youre comments about me were right on (I cannot speak for RoSquirts), I realized people must be getting sick and tired of hearing me fighting with him, and I recently had stopped confronting him altogether.
I had appologized to people for my part in the 'bickering' and do it again here.
I also did state I hope he returns here, just with a better attitude. I have often spoke on behalf of him too, our interactions were not always controversial.
What caused his ban came about all on his own doing...he made unprovoked very condescending remarks to another member in another thread ...certainly not the first time he did this...and with the new "respect" attitude and policy by Will and Mule, he earned his temporary suspension.

Pimp does post in A LOT of threads and you can't avoid posting in the same threads. It isn't posting in the same threads that is trolling, it is making sarcastic comments that aren't necessary that is trolling.
We did see all of the original posts that started the Rosquirts vs. Pimp drama and you were both in the wrong.
Challenge his opinions all you want, disagree with him if you don't agree with his views, but when you do it in a condescending way and try to goad him you are a part of the problem and not the solution.
Well something ain't right in the head with Pimp. He makes an apology to RoSquirts a few weeks ago and now I'm reading that he continues his attacks on her.
As with anything is this world...you won't be missed for very long, life does go on. Likewise Pimp will be quickly forgotten and no one will miss his contant posts about his OREO parties (which I still believe are mostly in his imagination).

Fairly new here, but since day one it's all seemed to be about pimp and a select few. Glad the mods did their job and hope they continue. Seems to me this forum is meant for all members to have a bit of fun. People that are just negative, mean, or spiteful only serve to take away from that fun. Good ridance to pimp. Hopefully the rest of the trouble makers will sit up and take notice.

On a second note... This 'banning' thing has me wondering about something. When a person is banned, EXACTLY what does that mean? Does it mean that the offender is summarily removed from this site, and not allowed to re-enter? OR, does it mean that they can enter and view others posts, but are restricted from posting, themselves?

Myself and Pimp disagree about much but I hope we do so with respect to each other and we are able to see when we were trying to wind each other.
Personally I try very hard to be nice to everyone whilst explaining my views as my Dad always told me to "never put down to malice what can be explained away with ignorance or stupidity". The one thing I will say about Pimp not entirely in his favour is that he is neither ignorant or stupid and he knows what he does and he enjoys the effect it has on people. All that taken, he has never been anything other than respectful to me, despite our opposite views, but perhaps that is because you reap what you sow in life.

Being banned basically means you can't log on and post. You can however enter the forum, without logging on, and read the various posts. I was able to visit the forum and read what was posted when Pimp banned me a few months back.
So Pimp is able to read everything that is being posted, he just can't reply to anything.
