First of all, I generally don't read any posts by Josetta, much less threads started by him (Yes, I meant to say "him"). I systematically dismiss them as borderline schizophrenic and thinly veiled homosexual dribble, but since it's in the "Off-Topic" forum, I figured...what the Hell?

I'm all for protecting the environment and not polluting it. However, the new religion called Global Warming is fucking stupid. IF the planet is changing its average temperature, then we (humans) have nothing to do with it. Did humans cause the last Ice Age? Did humans cause the end of the last Ice Age? Are we so arrogant as to believe that we can dig a hole in an ice sheet in Antarctica, check the CO2 content of the air pockets in the ice and accurately determine what the Earth's temperature was 5000 years ago?

Scientists and politicians are feeding us a load of bullshit. Why? Follow the money trail.

Global warming has been going on since the time when there was no English Channel, because you could walk from Moscow in Russia to Big Ben in London on top of a ice a mile deep.

A lot of coastal lands will become flooded, and islands made from old volcanoes that came out of the sea when they erupted, could easily become flooded as the Ice from the Poles melts and sends surges of warmer water around the world.

But the saving grace is that warmer water will evaporate and provide a lot more rain in the clouds, and if unstable air DUMPS the rain-sodden clouds, awesome floods will occur and SCARE THE DAYLIGHTS OUT OF HUMANS.

There is plenty of HIGH GROUND to build houses on or to seek refuge in a huge disaster - but you need a good supply of condoms to take advantage of all the sexual oportunities of a disaster, when people will be terrified for their lives, and sex will be the only thing that PULLS THEM THROUGH THE CRISIS.

If you don't have condoms, then there will be thousands of babies born to RESTART THE WORLD again.

MEN WHO TALK ABOUT REDUCING THE NUMBER OF ANIMALS TO REDUCE THE CARBON FOOTPRINT are fucked in the head. Without animals, 75% of humans would not be alive today. No animals, no protein.

Americans make up 4% of the world's population, but create 25% of the carbon footprint. America has 250 million cars, India has 12 cars per 1,000 people. Only 60% of Indians in India have electricity.

Planet Earth would have to be five times bigger if all humans were as wasteful in carbon footprints as Americans. THAT IS THE TRUTH whether us Americans are prepared to belief it or not.

If Americans had not got into wars that did not concern them, global temperatures would be 1.375 degrees Celsius cooler, and the number of Polar Bears would be 237% greater.

We need an urgent ban to stop all Americans driving their cars unless the journey is more than 4 miles. This would reduce traffic deaths by 2,320 per year and take a lot of pressure off hospital emergency rooms, and reduce the grieving families signifantly. But I guess the Funeral Directors would be very pissed off if the number of funerals dropped off and their lifestyle took a nose dive.

Again....I am all for a clean environment, and anything that we can do to help ensure a clean environment, I'm all for it.

HOWEVER... Man made global warming is bullshit!

Joe... One thing that stood out in your post above is that India has 12 cars per 1000 people and that only 60% of Indians have electricity. You DO realize that the population of India is over 1.1 billion, right?

That means that even though India only has 12 cars per 1000 people, they still have over 13.2 million cars on the road and I'm pretty certain that one of their cars are responsible for at least 3 to 5 times the pollution that the average American car is responsible for. And what about the buses in India? This is how most of the people get around, there. Those buses pollute like nowhere else in the world because they burn diesel and aren't 1/4 as efficient as European or American diesel vehicles.

And, 60% of 1.1 billion is 660 million...so there are at least 350 million MORE Indians with electricity than Americans.

Your comments about the wars and polar bears and the temperature difference are just ludicrous. Shit like this makes me wonder why I am trying to have an intelligent disagreement with you. All I can say is PROVE IT.

Errrr..... I understand science. I have a B.S. in Aerospace Technology. That's why I'm calling bullshit on the ability to accurately determine ancient temperatures by checking gaseous contents of ice cores in Antarctica. Any afternoon, you can watch your local weather and the temperature range (high and low) will vary by 5 to 6 degrees ON AVERAGE...EVERY FUCKING DAY throughout the viewing area. Yet, I'm supposed to blindly believe what some dork claims his studies find? The same dork who's getting paid to find data that keeps his funding rolling in? Would said dork still be doing "research" if he found that the temperatures haven't significantly changed in the past 2000 or so years?

And I, as an educated man, am supposed to blindly buy into the validity and accuracy of the core sample temperature estimates? Don't think so. Not without asking questions. REAL science doesn't have to hide its data in order to get the results. REAL science isn't looking for any results in particular. REAL science is only looking for the TRUTH...even if that truth isn't what they were hoping to find.

You say that it's obvious to you that the world's climate is changing due to the change you are observing, first hand, in plant life. What are those changes, pray tell? What are the changes in the plant's "habits"? Plants adapt and overcome. That's why some plants become extinct and the hardy ones flourish. Plants were going extinct long before man started driving cars, my friend.
