I'll doubt he'll close it. Probably merge it with MSN groups. MSN groups are crap and everyone knows the yahoo groups are the best groups out there.

Google bought out Youtube and an adult company did the same thing with AFF

I think they will market it as a competitors market, simply because it helps generate business. Look at all those GMC branches is one example.

But hey, if you're looking for pics, you can always join a flickr group. If you're looking to meet up, you can always join don's group Which is the Oreo.

I still moderate a few IR Yahoo groups. The most "main stream" one would be Yahoo! Groups . The others are more or less specialized.

Don't know what will happen to Yahoo groups after the merger. But for the time being I carry on business as usual.
