Israeli scientists have created the first ever male contraceptive pill, the only pill to ever show itself capable of successfully targeting male fertility. The pill only has to be taken once every three months, and works to deactivate sperm prior to reaching the egg. It does this by removing a protein that is vital to conception. What makes this pill so incredible is the fact that there are no side effects found to result from the taking of the tablet. According to Professor Haim Breitbart, this was a crucial part of the development. "Men don't cope well with side effects and having side effects would probably put many off wanting to take a pill. We've had none of those problems with our pill," he told The Telegraph. The male birth control pill could be ready for mass production and release in as little as three years.
