Hi. As no doubt you've heard either one or more haters attacked the chat-room starting around 1:00 AM CSST, 4-Jan-2008.
The chat-room program could be altered to look for both repeated strings within one message and also to check for originating ip addresses repeating noe right behing another with the same length of message, and to master-block those messages from displaying or playing sounds.
Your chat-room software supplier should be able to do this and they should want to, as obviously this type of attack will become more common and is almost totally paralyzing.
The repeating IP detection is one way "Denial of Service" attacks are prevented now.
