Did anyone catch the Dear Abbey question from the other day.

The author asks how she should handle her sister, her sister's husband and her sister's boyfriend coming over for Thanksgiving again this year!

We read the paper in the morning over breakfast and both Sue and I looked at each other when we each read that one. I read it first and she saw my grin, she looked at me with the same grin a few minutes later when she also found the column.

Yes... that one was a good choice for publication.

Yes — I read that one. I thought it was a good question for "Abby" to have selected for publication. (Presumably she gets thousands of letters every day and has to decide which ones to feature in her column.) I didn't think "Abby's" reply was among her better efforts, but I suppose from a social acceptability point of view it was about what one would expect.

Generally speaking, I would say the current "Dear Abby" replies tend to be better than those of her predecessor (her mother). They seem pithier. But hey... I'm not a connoisseur of advice columnists.
