I believe it was in the early "60's" Redneck. Before that it was rubbers, pull outs, abstinance during her time of the month, and abortions.

during the 20's and 30's rubbers or durex's were used. if not men pulled out if you were lucky.

a lot of women who did get pregnant were sent away to 'visit aunty or uncle'
or even she's gone to 'stay with my sister'. that's if they were lucky.
the unlucky ones were often sent to mental institutions, or were made to give up thier child for Adoption.

Believe it or not, there were condoms back then. Not as effective, and not made out of latex. I do believe the diaphragm was more often that the condom.
