We have decided to do a temporary break up to see what it feels like. Basically I’m going to go to a friends for at least a week, we’ve agreed it should be at least a week but I have the option of extending it if everything is ok. Now he has asked if I can make this hurt as much as possible, so I thought one thing I could do is email him saying you know what I want this to be permanent I’m seeing a divorce lawyer half way through. Does anyone here have any advice or tips how to make it really sting and hurt for him.

Are you the wife? A few ideas... start shopping for another house or apartment. Maybe get a few open house flyers or realtor business cards and leave them in your place before you leave in a place he will find them. You could also call a realtor about a listing and give his number but your name. That way the realtor will call him following up on the listing and ask for you. He should be able to put two and two together.
