I think this is more cultural than genetic. White or Black , we all came out of Africa anyways. As for mentality it's true that trying to become a basketball player or any kind of professional athelete vs. some other type of professional is just a bad/silly bet financially. Few hundred NBA players vs. Hundreds of thousands/millions of doctors/lawyers, business owners, etc.
